Boticelli's Venus meets Middle Eastern psychedelia in this hand-painted miniature tile mural.

I've always been fascinated by the nude form in art. I love its many possibilities, from the charcoal life drawings of Youssef Abdelké to the photography of Ren Hang and Araki. For my first collection, I wanted to make my own contribution to that tradition. 

In the context of Middle Eastern art – specifically the tradition of highly ornamental, pattern-based tile murals – nudes carry transgressive power. Still to this day, art students in Damascus don't get to draw from nude models. So I enjoyed that bit of transgression in these tile paintings.

Size

About the size of a paperback novel, our small tile murals are intended for renters, nomads and casual tile enthusiasts.

Because we know that not everyone has the space (or understanding landlords) to install a full-sized tile mural.
